Lucy started her firm in 1995, growing Lucy & Company into a highly successful public outreach, stakeholder engagement and issue management firm. She’s sole owner of the woman-owned, Sacramento-based business.

As the company’s chief outreach strategist for large-scale, comprehensive public outreach and behavior change programs, she likes to roll up her sleeves and lead contentious and high-profile projects to successful outcomes for her clients. In other settings, Lucy develops research-based strategic programs to encourage audiences to take action on how they perform daily tasks—using water efficiently, preparing for a flood event or dumping grease down the drain.

Lucy has helped her clients win countless regional, statewide and national awards throughout the past three decades. The important part of these achievements is the programs accomplished the goals and objectives. Lucy enjoys seeing her client programs succeed through public input and community involvement.

She was recently honored as a Woman Who Means Business from the Sacramento Business Journal and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Sacramento Public Relations Association. She also won the 2015 Small Business of the Year award from the Sacramento Metro Chamber.

Lucy serves and is actively involved on the communications committee for both the California Association of Sanitation Agencies and the Association of California Water Agencies. Every year, she serves on related committees and organizations that benefit the community, business, public works, water and local government organizations.

Lucy received her bachelor of science in 1987 from the University of Oregon Communications Department and is a die-hard Ducks football fan.
